Happy Birthday, Bug! I can't answer your questions (because I know nothing about guinea pigs), but I am sure you can Google to find an answer. Why the name change?
ReplyDeletei did not like the name marshmallow
ReplyDeleteIt seems you have three options:
ReplyDelete1. Take the pig to a small animal vet. He/she can confirm whether or not your pig is pregnant. Is she is, the vet will tell you everything you need to know.
2. Go to the library and get a book about guinea pigs.
3. Do some online research.
I would go for option #1 if I were you. The important thing is not to handle her too much and give her some nesting material, maybe a little box, where she can be alone and feel secure. Baby guinea pigs are born looking just like adult pigs; they're ridiculously cute. I don't think the cage mate will harm the babies but you need to be absolutely certain.
Animals know what to do instinctively so don't worry about the actual birth. Good luck.
